SOUTH CAROLINA
After 2 1/2 days of steering the boat by hand, we finally arrived, tired but safe in La Providencia, Columbia... A tiny, beautiful Island off the coast of Nicaragua. The trip was 365nm from Roatan and the weather held up well. Unfortunately, the wind was either dead, or on our nose so we motorsailed almost the whole way... We left Honduras with a broken autopilot so we hand steered for the WHOLE trip!
Now that we are here, we have learned that there is nothing we can do about getting it fixed before we arrive in Panama. Fortunately, it is only another 185nm... A piece of cake!
We plan to be here in La Providencia for 3 or 4 weeks...
