Today I was really lucky to have my good friend Scott's son, Taylor come to help me... He is young, strong and smart, all qualities that made the day go well... The only downside, is that he eats a lot!
That said, we were able to get the teak removed from around the mast. A job that I thought would take about 1/2 an hour ended up taking almost 2 hours! Lots more wet and rot to deal with... it seems that every time a leak happened they just added more silicone.... Instead of fixing it properly... Oh well...
We got all the hardware off the aft deck...
I think that about one more day should see the deck cleared of all hardware...
After 9 years of planning, and 4 years of preparation, we are finally on the adventure of a lifetime... On July 1st 2014 we left Ontario Canada setting out on an adventure that might just take us around the world.... This blog is a chronical of not only our trip but the work that went into getting us and our Dufour 12000ct Ketch rigged sailboat ready.... Enjoy... We are happy to share our adventures...
